Seoul has an extensive subway system that connects all parts of the city, making it easy and convenient to get around. The subway system is operated by Seoul Metro and consists of 22 lines that cover more than 1,100 kilometers.
Here are the steps to using the Seoul subway system:
Purchase a T-money card or single-use subway ticket from a vending machine or ticket booth at the subway station. T-money is a rechargeable transportation card that can be used on all forms of public transportation in Seoul, including buses and subways.
Look for the subway station entrance and follow the signs to the correct subway line.
Scan your T-money card or insert your subway ticket into the turnstile gate to enter the subway station.
Follow the signs to the correct platform for your desired train. The signs will show the train's direction and final destination, as well as the estimated time until the next train arrives.
Board the train when it arrives and find a seat or a spot to stand. The subway cars are usually labeled with their line number and the next station, and there are also electronic signs that display the upcoming stops and transfer information.
When you reach your destination, exit the subway station through the turnstile gate.
The Seoul subway system operates from approximately 5:30 am to midnight, and trains run every 3-5 minutes during peak hours and every 5-10 minutes during off-peak hours. It's a good idea to plan your route ahead of time using a subway map or smartphone app to avoid confusion or delays
